Constipation

Constipation is one of the most common disorders that affect many people and may often cause unbearable pains in daily life. But one can get rid of such unpleasant case, if timely treated. But the problem is that most sufferers do not take it seriously and begin to look for various solutions only when they experience extreme pains and other serious disorders related to this trouble. In fact, if not timely cured, this disorder can lead to more severe disease – hemorrhoids.

Causes of Constipation

This disorder can originate from multiple factors including stress, unhealthy nutrition (consuming not enough fiber and liquid, excess protein, refined foods) and physical inactivity. But this is a list of only some most common reasons to which we can add also disorderly functioning liver or thyroid, pregnancy, metabolic problems, aging process and so on. Besides, sometimes some medicines you take can also cause difficult evacuation of the bowels.

Treatment for Constipation

The most effective solution is a well balanced diet rich in fiber and water, as well as daily exercises. Particularly, a glass of hot water mixed with lemon juice, when taken on an empty stomach in the morning can help easily get rid of the disorder.

The best breakfast for sufferers of constipation can be fruits such as apples and figs, as well as dried fruits like raisins, plums and apricots. Buckwheat is also very useful for solving the problem. Avoid wheat bran as it is digested harder and longer and can lead to difficult evacuation of the bowels and hemorrhoids. Instead, consume bread cooked from coarse-ground flour, as it is rich in fiber that is very important to provide good digest process.

As for vegetables to be eaten on daily basis, you’d better to prefer beetroot, broccoli, and cauliflower. You can make a mixed salad of them, or can apply a simple receipt that can be easily made every day: boil beetroot, grate it, and add some salt and sour cream. That’s all! You’ll get a useful and at the same time tasty salad that will provide better digestive process. Olive oil is also one of the most effective foods as a solution against infrequent evacuation of the bowels. You can consume it either separately (taking 1 tablespoon a day) or in salads. Beetroot and olive oil are very effective especially for women who are pregnant.

As for necessary exercises to be done regularly, you can choose the one that is more suitable for your daily schedule. For this purpose, it is recommended to try yoga exercises on daily basis, as some Asanas – poses are directly aimed at relieving from constipation. But if you have no time to do regular exercises, then try to walk at least for 30 minutes every day.
